3 Considerations for Asset Documentation

Feb 9, 2016

CMMS, or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, are becoming absolutely essential for asset and facilities documentation. However, optimal use of these programs require careful planning. Here are the three most important things to keep in mind.

1. Careful Use

First of all, make sure that users are using the media conscientiously. If maintenance staff leave a long, detailed report of an issue in the description field, it can be difficult for other users to search and find the information that they need.

2. Optimize for Mobile

Next, make sure you are optimized for mobile. CMMS documentation becomes much easier when users can carry the program with them wherever they go.

3. Train

Finally, train your staff carefully so that they know exactly how to handle CMMS. This will make the whole process simpler for everyone. The best practices for asset and facilities documentation can make using CMMS much more effective.
